A few minutes by train from Narita airport lies Narita city where this temple and group of buildings stand. The temple was established in 940 to commemorate the victory of the forces dispatched from the Heian capital to suppress a revolt by the powerful Kantō region samurai, Taira no Masakado.. I have been here a few times before just walking around and taking pictures but I was lucky this time to catch the boys going out for lunch. The colors were quit impressive. Defiantly worth a short train ride from Narita airport if your there killing time between flights.
