Jussi LyonsRunning up the path to the volcano hoping to get a few photographs before the clouds close in. This part of New Zealand’s north island is full of adventures like Ngauruhoe. Some of the ‘Lord of the Rings’ was filmed here. Traveling up this path you are in awe of the cinematic landscape that just keeps…. unfolding in front of you. You can see why it was chosen for the movie. After spending a week driving around the south island I was really excited to be driving through the middle of the north island. I spent the day hiking here but did not do the full hike along the Tongariro Crossing. I will defiantly go back to New Zealand again and make sure I do the hike and also visit the massive caves in Waitomo.
