Koh Samui – Thailand Vacations

Koh Samui is one of my favourite holiday destinations. I made my first trip here about five years ago to visit a friend and fell in love with the place. Shortly thereafter I bought a holiday home and have been going back there several times a year. The island is located…about 80 miles south of Bangkok in the gulf of Thailand. The easiest way to get here is to fly from Bangkok or you can take a ferry from the mainland.

The island has so many activities to do and some really quite beaches if you just want to be alone and relax. Here is a few from the Jungle club where you can enjoy the sunrise, eat breakfast, take a dip in the pool or site out on the deck at night enjoying a drink and the light mountain top breeze.

A fire show at the new beach bar in Fisherman’s village with some tasty beverages. They also have these VIP hammocks large enough for four or five people to sit on and you don’t get sand in your crack. They also have some good tunes to sit and watch people engulf themselves in flames. They are standing right on the edge of the water and in it at times so they can take a dip if things get a little toasty. Fisherman’s Village is located on the north east coast of Koh Samui in Thailand. The fire show is held every night just in front of the ‘Warf’ shopping complex. In the past few years this part of Samui has grown tremendously in popularity and now ranks second from Chawang beach as a cool place to hangout at night and during the day for that matter. On Friday night’s its the top spot. They close down all the streets to vehicular traffic and it hosts the largest street market on the island.

I went out for a run this afternoon and met this little guy walking around in the woods. I’m no elephant expert but I think he is around two years old. We had fun hanging out until his mother came over and showered me in sand.
