Hong Kong Street Markets

It was pouring with ran as I roamed the streets of Hong Kong taking pictures and admiring the fact that bamboo scaffolding was still used for…. all construction projects. In the heart of the city you can find these amazing street markets with fresh produce. Roaming the back streets of Hong Kong you can find all kinds of small crowded markets. This one is just next to the longest covered escalator system in the world.

While I was there I also hiked ‘Victoria’s Peak’. It was a beautiful day and this was the view of Hong Kong from the top. I think the population density is higher in here than any other city in Asia. It’s incredible that with the topography of this place they chose to build a city here.

The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge which will span 38km across the south China sea, connecting the two cities is well underway. Next time you fly into the city and your landing to the east look out the window and see if you can see it. It’s quit an impressive engineering feat.

While I was walking along the waterfront looking over at ‘central’ I took this panorama with my iPhone and used the Tiny Planets app to make it into a sphere.
